SNOW!

the post of my studio space is pretty weak, but if you're wondering, the source of the SILF image is BustedTees.com who is run by Connected Ventures who made this epic music video

Lip Dub - Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger from amandalynferri on Vimeo.

on a similar note, i am going to work at MCAD DesignWorks next semester.
i havent seen their music videos quite as choreographed as this. its going to be interesting, but i will work on that.

first of all, my desktop should be choreographed because it is whooping me and my laptop in the ass.

no big.
my new 500gb hardrive should take care of some things.

im so proud of my dear friend maddy, she got a job at HOLDEN OUTERWEAR yesterday in portland! it is her first semester in the communications design program at PNCA. she's siked!!
she's going to learn enough there to launch our snowfashion line MAD.E
later on. until then, i will be working on my bedazzling skillz.
and sadly, selling my board. let me know if you have a need, ladies.

scare me

realising my work should be emphasizing rhythm.

high places cycling ever so eerily in the dark.

i listened to the radio from a circa 1980s pink alarm clock/radio during dinner tonight.

right now i am at work in the studio to the hum of an industrial air vent.

how transitional.

a look at THE LIFE

(QUICK I ONLY HAVE 10 MINUTES TO DO THIS)
my worksoon this should be very expressive of...the more is less aesthetic.

while working in class today, my friend and i were very hungry and i told her "im so hungry, that i think i am going to eat mayonnaise (on my sandwich)"
so i came home and i maybe took a little more than the "10 minute meal" theme that i had thought to have perfected. i tried to neglect the mayonnaise because i thought it contained partially hydrogenated oils, but alas it features eggs. almost worse. but a good start to the miniature, travel sized jar of it. 2" tall maybe. it tasted SO good with the sirracha and kale.
most definately a
i browsed my online world a good one.

PEACE IDEAL

today at my gallery job at JOAN OF ART, i picked up a wonderful PEACE necklace, as well as an antique, aqua blue IDEAL Ball mason jar with original lid and wire bail!

this PEACE neckpiece is by a minneapolis artist named Heinz Brummel.
he is a sculpture and jewelry designer with an amazing collection referencing the work of Alexander Calder (whose mobile at the MIA inspired my own mobile pictured a few posts below)!
Brummel even fashions mobile necklaces!

these PEACE necklaces are most stunning, though my version is silver.

original feelings

i encourage every artist i know to visit the site of one of my most admired artists, Harrell Fletcher.
okay, this is truly a coincidence (and also very significant) that he is from portland.
i was introduced to him last year as he was a guest in my experimental video course at the U of M.
he has participated in whitney biennials for his work with LEARNING TO LOVE YOU MORE where he engages an expansive community to participate with assignments. An endearing collection of folk art! real grassroots. his process feels very genuine and the community he creates through LTLYM is almost visceral -- it is now a book, indeed!

entirely charming and mysterious. makes me cry, still.
I LOVE HIS VIDEOS. please view them for yourselves

PLAY

i've noticed a unique sensibility portland filmakers are using. i believe it to be raw and honest, exactly what is appealing to me.
they are fun and accessible! touring my favorite city of portland. a giant playground!

seriously! this is YACHT

towards portland

this is one of my favorite videos ever! starring my friend thor, taking place in portland

KINETIC

by SARAH SZE...mobile nouveu...my plan to start utilizing loads of important ephemera!

the last few ideas i have been working with involves motion and cycle.

i prefer creating installations and especially video!

(i have been thinking long and hard about the ways in which my blog will benefit the greater good of humankind.
most importantly, starting with mine own hardships with structuring ideas into finished work.
in basic terms, and of utmost importance, my blog will be in motion.
to contain collections, become public, and inspire further collections of resources, and so on)

in with the out and out with the in

welcome to my blog!
(even though this ends up being pushed away into a very unwelcoming position in history as blogs flow linearly and the new is stacked upon the old.)
i will make sure the featured material is increasingly exciting!
