yesterday was the best week i ever had
r.i.p. art shanties!!
saturday was full of it. my family came out, the sun was all around, the ice below and the bottoms up.
to celebrate, we ice skated around shantyland for hours as the sun was setting. it was a most emotional experience.
imagine skating with this montage
but on top of a beautiful, frozen, minnesota lake. (wind included)
we skated right out there
also, we de-installed our poor shanty all day sunday.
emily is in distress. this one's for gail:
what are we going to do with ourselves now?

total eclipse of the art shanties!
so last night emily and i trekked late-night to the art shanties. we celebrated the lunar eclipse and the beginning of the end of this year's shanty project. it was bitter cold. we watched some flicks on an ice-block screen and feasted at the art car shanty!
at 7:40 when we arrived, the sun was casting a crimson shade over the full moon. we heard a commotion in the distance, and arrived at the robot "shanty". we brought him to life again tonight, and attempted to launch him into space! (i helped set off the fireworks for these photographs)
while you're at it, why dont you see more Art Shanty photos
our friend sam from the s.u.r.v.i.v.a.l shanty served up some hand-hunted goose on the grill! oh my goodness it was delicious!
then we went on to our Snap Shot Shanty and composed some lovely night shots! (check our blog to view)
and our night could not have been more complete without the norae shanty! we sat in a cozy bunch of karaoke enthusiasts! lit by candlelight, fueled by the passion of singing classic rock lyrics off a screen into a microphone, the norae was bursting at the seams.
i just found this. from the main art shanty page. totally great.
(this one reminds me of al, riley, anne, ali, and everyone at the beach house and govylife 2006!)
i love the art shanty projects.
our last day is saturday so come out already!!

sensational
the ultimate video in my search for these amazing beats that i remembered from the Cinco de Mayo celebration on Lake St.
THANKS to my wonderful Dj Ninjah for leading me to The Big Boss of Raggaeton
now, we just dont see websites like his anymore. and why should we?
there was also a collection of sweet fingerpuppets at a vendor.
i decided to rescue mine at home, instead.
